![Whitworth Leisure Centre has long been a cornerstone of community life in Whitworth, a testament to the enduring spirit and dedication of its residents. A dedicated group of residents formed the Whitworth Leisure Centre CIC (Community Interest Company), fueled by a desire to see the centre flourish once again. Through tireless negotiations and unwavering community support, the CIC convinced Rossendale Borough Council to transfer ownership to Whitworth Town Council, with the CIC taking over operation through a lease agreement.
